Petra, has been a site for scenes of some major blockbusters such as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In 2007 Petra was named one of the 7 world wonders and with one visit it is clear to see why.
When traveling to Petra, be sure to opt in for the two day pass. This is the best way to fully understand Petra. The entry Cost is 55JD for two days. You can also hire a Bedouin guide for 50JD. Many of the guides were born and raised in Petra.
The first day you will want to see the Siq, Treasury, the city and the Monastery. This hike will be 2-3 Hours both was depending on your speed. You can always rent a camel for 10JD. (They try to charge 20JD but be willing to negotiate and not pay the first asking price)
